Dropbox - geek stuff

Now that we've finished and handed everything in, I've backed up the entire "RMIT Professional Practice" folder to a DVD (it's approx 1.8GB). I'll keep it at least until we move in late January, so if any of you want it, I can burn you a copy.

If you're getting messages that your Dropbox is full, you can leave the shared folder. Here's how:

Go to the Dropbox.com website, login if necessary
Check the checkbox beside the "RMIT Professional Practice" folder
Select "Shared folder options" from the "More actions" drop-down list
Click on "Members"
At the bottom of the box that opens, click "Leave this shared folder"

Result:

1. You will now have approximately 1.8 GB more space in your Dropbox.

2. This does NOT delete the folder from the Dropbox folder on your computer, so you can still access the files - they just won't sync with everyone else any more.

Looking forward to catching up again later this week (after I've said my final goodbye to Bogan Jesus)!

Bryce.

Acknowledgement email from Nick

Thanks for the email,

Again,

Well done!

best wishes,

Nick.

Dear Nick,

We've handed in a hard copy of the Revenue Design business plan this afternoon. Here is a link to an electronic copy version of the business plan.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1142117/Revenue%20Design%20BusinessPlan%20Layout%20-%20screen.pdf

Warning:
This file is approximately 39MB, so depending on your connection speed, it will take a while to download. It might be a good idea to temporarily reconfigure your default browser so it downloads rather than opens PDF files.

Technical stuff:
The reason the file is so large is not because of the images - even though they are at 300dpi, they are only taking 1/3 of the file size. Most of the file size is "content streams" which will be things like text, diagrams, and particularly the grey mesh and the "wire binding" on every page.

All the best,
Bryce.

Hey Nick,

Sorry about the spam.... posterous can get a bit like that even when you're having a conversation with 6 people. Now that you're on posterous you can communicate with us easier.... last friday was a 1 off intro special.... we actually didnt know if you were receiving those emails or not.

Im not going to be able to meet you on friday but my group can as they are all free.

i'm seeing them on tuesday (tomorrow) this week and i'll get them to sort out a time with you.

A few things have changed but its just fine tuning. I can give you a run down before you all meet on friday (post on posterous) so that you know what to look for.

Thanks
Mel

Next and last Meeting THIS SUNDAY.... before we print on monday.

Hey Team... AND Nick

Next meeting for us is on this sunday 30th Oct.

Team revenue meet @ 10am - we will be having breakfast, taking pics of Ten Ren and finishing the last edit. Where should we meet? Any suggestions?

Nick meet us @ 3pm - in the computer labs (same as last meet up). By that time we would have had our last minute edits done.

After our combined meetings (if we don't kill each other) we should have a drink at a nearby bar to celebrate the end of this team effort.

Hopefully we can all make it.

Mel

Hey team RD

Thought i'd post this up on posterous
Nick's suggestions as to how we should reorganise our b plan...
This is for the Marketing bit...think some of the headings have changed too

Retail Industry
Marketing Objectives
Competitors
Market Segments/Target Group
SWOT
Value Proposition
Corporate Identity Strategy
Promotion Strategy
4Ps

See u guys in the arvo!

Sunday Check List

Here are the things we need to do and keep in mind and stay focused on this sunday meeting (meeting @ 11am, comp lab, building 9).

  1. Set up indesign file:
    - paragraph style sheets
    - fonts chosen
    - link text files
    - take into consideration the binding leaving an extra 20mm from to top for wire binding

  2. Check graphs and imagery:
    - what needs to be done
    - whats done / im progress
    - what does wanissa need help with

  3. Finance run down with whole team for an undersanding.

  4. Make sure references are correct and put in the right spots.

  5. Find out How many pages for the print quote.

  6. write up another wish list for next meeting (yeah ok i wrote a list in a list, not right).

Please let me know if we need to cover anything else and maybe if we have time we could add it to sunday or the next list.

thanks /// mel

Tuesday lunch meeting with nick

Hey Is this Tuesday 11am ok with everyone to meet up with nick. Lunch is obviously involved so I was thinking where do we want to meet?

1. RMIT Computer Labs?

2. State Library?

3. RMIT Cafeteria

My suggestion is that we meet somewhere pretty local @ 11am lets say RMIT Cafeteria then walk to Seven Seeds together assuming that Seven Seeds has enough Bench space for us to take over.... and hoping its not a long walk.

What do you all think? Let me know so I can email Nick.

Nick Just also emailed me the E-waste executive summary for us to look at... im not posting it again because I think we already posted this.

Mel

PS: I hope dinner was fun... sorry I couldnt make it but love the fb pics... the poster that consumed my time that night for my sisters end of year uni crap got positive remarks enough for her to say she paid a designer $105 per hour for it... she thought it was totally worth that much... Go Revenue Design! we're going to take over this land and call it...... this land!
